Art, a retired Senior Master Sergeant, U.S. Air
Force, developed his cleaning management skills at another firm
before coming to EC in June, 1998 as an Area Manager. It wasn't
very long before he was promoted to Operations Manager. It is his
job to take care of customers, oversee his staff of area managers
and make sure that his nightly cleaning staff performs to required
standards.
Art and his wife Arlene own 35 acres of land and are frequent vendors
at area farmers' markets; office staff members routinely enjoy produce
and freshly laid eggs. Their newest hobby is decorative gourd painting.

Dave has worked with EC since September, 1992.
He has really moved through the ranks, doing it all: cleaner, Special
Services team member, Special Services manager, Operations Manager
in Madison, Operations manager of our Fox Valley branch, and now
Regional Business Development Manager. Dave has a wealth of experience
in floor and carpet care. As changing technology in Special Services
continues to affect everything from carpet fibers to floor finishes,
he and his staff have worked to stay on top of the best practices
in the industry.
Married to Gina (a former EC employee!), Dave likes to play disc
golf in his free time, which, unfortunately, with 3 children doesn't
happen often enough.

Responding to our need for an increased
sales staff, Ryan Polcyn started February 1, 2006. He graduated
from Carthage College in Kenosha with a degree in business & marketing,
following in the footsteps of others in his family. Currently based
in Madison, Ryan says he loves the challenge of sales, "especially
if you believe in what you're selling!" He feels that he has
no trouble selling Environment Control, after watching the Operations
Team and the personal, direct commitment that they bring to each
account.
A self-declared "sports nut," Ryan
would love to be the General Manager of a baseball team, if only
for a day: recruiting management talent would be the most fun of
all. Pinning him down to which team was hard - he couldn't choose
between the Brewers or the Braves. He loves to go home on weekends
to watch his dad coach his younger brother's baseball team.

Bob returned to EC in October, 2002 after a 10-year absence: he
worked with us at several points between 1976 and 1993. During those
years, he did every jobfrom cleaner to unit manager to Human
Resources specialist. After leaving EC, he owned two businesses:
a carpet cleaning business and a vending machine servicing business.
In between, he also became a real estate salesman, something that
he continues in his spare time.
Bob brings some significant cleaning experience, but what he really
likes is developing people, although he says "At EC, I don't have
to work at finding quality people to work on my team: I'm so impressed
that they're already there! My job is to develop their skills even
more."
He and his wife Kathleen really like to eat out, so if you see
them sitting at a table next to you, be sure to say hello!

Mark has worked with EC through many stages of his life. In 1992
he returned, working as a cleaner. Subsequently he served as an
Area Manager on the west side of Madison, then eventually took on
the position of Technical Systems & Supplies Manager, where
he ensured that our cleaners have the proper supplies and equipment
and that our customers have the paper products they need. He also
researches new supplies and equipment, always looking for better,
more efficient ways to clean. In January 2007, in order to devote
more time to his entrepreneurial ventures outside EC, Mark shifted
to a part-time, but extremely important position repairing all of
our many vacuums and floor cleaning equipment.
Mark and his wife Lori have started a small business that sells
special tools for cleaning fish tanks. He's also an avid astronomer
and, when the aurora borealis flares up, has been known to get up
in the middle of the night and take his telescope out to the country
to get good photographs. Mark is also a golfer who vies for the
"EC Cup."

Brian Sorensen came to EC with an
extensive background in cleaning and supervision, in addition to
experience in building maintenance. Hired in March 2004 as a floater
supervisor, he was promoted in January 2005 to Area Manager over
our Fox Valley branch. Of all the tasks he performs on a regular
basis, he enjoys training and employee development the most. But
he does feel it's important to put equal emphasis on developing
relationships with the employees as well as with the customers,
since both are important for a successful working relationship.
Since graduating from UW Green Bay
with a major in Communications and Theatre he has been on both sides
of the footlights, working as crew for Ronald McDonald productions
and as an actor in local community & dinner theatres. Married with
3 children, he lives in a 1921 Craftsman style bungalow that he
is lovingly restoring. They also have two dogs, two cats and several
degus (it's a small mouse-like animal!)
so things are generally busy around the house!
